The purpose of this investigation was to see if it was possible to use polymer optical fibers (POFs) to detect friction and pressure in special clothes. POFs from three separate manufacturers were examined for this purpose, each with its own set of quality indicators. For the investigation, three types of textiles were used: single jersey, 1 × 1 rib, and 1 × 1 interlock. This equipment was built with a transition table and a triaxial load cell to monitor normal and tangential loads during the test. Compression and friction testing revealed that the chosen POF had acceptable repeatability and reproducibility, allowing it to be utilized as an indication of special loads. Mathematical models have been devised to forecast the amount of irradiance loss during compression and friction testing utilizing normal and tangential force. The results of the study can be used to monitor the special loads of a person clothes.
