Many of the challenges to the unique nature of international law that affect its efficient teaching to law universities and faculty students are relevant to the developing educational systems of the five Central Asian states. Subsequently, this study aimed to review the challenges, including the ones caused by local contextual factors, using the legal analytical and comparative method. It also discussed the lack of private universities, the availability of library resources in the Central Asian region, local schools and doctrines of international law. The study suggested potentially useful teacher strategies which could address the existing challenges and problematic issues in teaching public international law. The strategies encompass innovations, including employing interdisciplinary approaches and connecting theory and practice in the instruction of the discipline. Additionally, the study provided a perspective regarding methods considered more engaging and effective in teaching public international law in Central Asia. It also recommended valuable skills needed by students of international law.
