The variety of applications of yttriumaluminum garnet (YAG)-based luminescentmaterials and the morphology necessary forthese purposes required the development ofmany technologies for their synthesis. Allsynthesis technologies used are complex. The structural phase of yttrium-aluminumgarnet is formed with any technology, attemperatures exceeding 1.500 °C. The startingmaterials for the synthesis are metal oxidesof aluminum, yttrium and other oxides foractivation and modification. It seems possibleto use hard radiation to form a new phase.Radiation synthesis of ceramics is realized inless than 1 s, without the use of any additivesand influences. The synthesis was carried out at theelectron accelerator of the Institute ofNuclear Physics (Novosibirsk). In thiswork, we studied the spectral-kinetic andquantitative characteristics of luminescencefor the first time obtained by the methodof radiation synthesis of ceramic samples ofyttrium-aluminum garnet doped with ceriumwith statistical processing of their values. The dependences of the reproducibility of thespectral characteristics of the luminescenceof the samples on the preliminary preparationof the charge for synthesis have beeninvestigated. Several cycles of luminophorebrightness studies have been performed. It is shown that the obtained ceramicsbased on yttrium-aluminum garnet doped withcerium possesses the required spectral-kineticproperties, and the efficiency of conversionof the chip radiation into luminescence isachieved, which is comparable to thatavailable in commercial phosphors. Themaximum measured values of the positionof the bands are from 553.5 to 559.6 nm.Brightness values range from 4.720 to1.960 cd/m2.It was found that the main reason forthe scatter in the characteristics of theluminescent properties of ceramics of yttriumaluminumgarnet, activated by ceriumobtained by radiation assisted synthesis is thehigh rate of synthesis and, especially, the highrate of cooling of the samples
