Wastewater is considered one of the biggest causes of environmental pollution, and its treatment is an urgent necessity to preserve water resources and reduce its harmful effects. With the continuation of scientific development, the technologies used in wastewater treatment are increasing, and chemical treatment is considered one of the most successful and effective ways to reduce pollutants in wastewater. Coagulation and flocculation are one of the chemical processes in wastewater treatment, where coagulants are added, and in the process of homogenisation, the components of the wastewater are separated and precipitated. In this study, alum and lime were used, and the wastewater properties were studied after removing the causes of turbidity from the wastewater. The suitable dose for solution treatment by using alum solution is 20 mg/l, and the quantity of alum solution in an untreated sample is 25 mg/l. It proved its effectiveness as a chemical process in reducing various pollutants by 76 and 74% for BOD, 78 and 74% for COD, TSS by 89%, phosphates by 98 and 84%, turbidity by 95%, O&G by 74 and 69%, and ammonium by 75 and 68% for each alum and lime, respectively.
