The current paper has analysed the linguacultural and anthropological symbolism of colour idioms with dark/light blue in Russian (siniy, goluboy) and kök (blue) in Kazakh, focusing on their origins, semantics and a symbolic significance. The anthropological, linguacultural and comparative analysis approaches have been employed to analyse colour designations via the Russian National Corpus (RNC) and the Kazakh National Corpus (KNC). Research papers on insights into symbolism of colour terms in both cultures have been analysed, unveiling both parallels and distinctions that facilitate culturally embedded traditions, experiences and values of each ethnocultural community. The corpus results from RNC and KNC have revealed that idiomatic colour designations with dark/light blue in Russian and with kök (blue) in Kazakh evoke both positive and negative connotations, however the semantics of Kazakh with this colour designations has more diverse and richer nature. It demonstrates historical, geographical, social and cultural characteristics of ancient nomads (Turks).
