The classification and typology of ceramic vessels of the Saka–Wusun period from Southeastern Jetisu represent a comprehensive study aimed at systematizing archaeological material obtained during the excavations of the Sarytogay I and VIII, Togyzbulak, Temirlik, Shyryn, and Sharyn burial grounds. The work encompasses a morphological and functional analysis of the vessels. The main goal of the study is to develop a unified classification system that refines cultural and chronological characteristics and identifies typological groups of ceramics. The classification and typology of the vessels were carried out on the basis of the approaches developed by A.A. Bobrinsky, Yu. B. Tsetlin, and V.F. Gening for the analysis and methodological study of ancient ceramic forms. The study concludes that the complexes demonstrate similarities while also exhibiting distinctive features in the pottery of the Jetisu sites. The proposed typology helps to identify regional and intercultural connections that reflect processes of cultural integration and interaction with neighboring archaeological complexes. The results of the research are significant for reconstructing the socio-economic structure, subsistence practices, and ritual traditions of the population of the Saka–Wusun period. Based on long-term archaeological excavations, the study refines the dating of the sites, reveals patterns in vessel morphology and decorative motifs, and contributes to a deeper understanding of the historical and cultural development of the region.
