In this study, the possibility of using natural and technogenic raw materials from the Turkestan region (Republic of Kazakhstan) as components of heat-insulating material with environmental cleanliness and low cost was considered. Chemical and instrumental methods, such as X-ray phase and spectral atomic absorption analyses, were used to analyze the technogenic and natural raw material compositions and properties of the materials, in which the clay and overburden rock mineralogical compositions were determined. From these results, ceramic mass compositions with different additive contents (i.e., overburden, coal, and wood chips) were selected. The following physical and mechanical properties of the developed products of various compositions were identified: density, strength, thermal conductivity, porosity, and water absorption. Areas in which the developed composition can be employed in industrial and civil construction applications are proposed.
